Unless you live under a rock, you have heard from different sources that sitting is bad for your health. One of the results of prolonged sitting is low back pain. The reason is that when you sit for a long time , your hip flexors and hamstrings get very tight and your abdomen and butt get weakened. This plus the compression placed on the spine which may lead to misalignments, causes lower back problems.
The treatment to correct this would be to perform either A.R.T.or Graston therapy on the hamstrings and psoas/ rectus femoris muscles , provide strengthening exercises to the glutes ( butt) and abdominal muscles and give a chiropractic adjustment to the lumbar vertebrae, sacrum or pelvis.
